Our client, an Integrated Steel Manufacturing company, with stated objectives of becoming a market leader in the sub Saharan African steel industry, is seeking to engage the services of a competent HR Director for its operations in Nigeria

Educational Qualification & Experience
  • Graduate or MBA in HR with 20 to 25 years experience in large business house.
  • Preferred: Advance degree with experience in Steel plant preferably in African countries
Job Summary
  • Develop policy and directing and coordinating human resources activities, such as employment,compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Maintain organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program& counseling managers. 

Detailed job description
  1. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  2. Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitivecompensation plan.
  3. Writes directives advising department managers of Company policy regardingequal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
  4. Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
  5. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  6. Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
  7. Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers or governmentofficials regarding human resources policies and practices.
  8. Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pensionplan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  9. Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations,promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  10. Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
  11. Prepares budget of human resources operations
  12. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  13. Annual appraisal,retention,contract labour hiring &management.
  14. Grievance redressal
  15. Other responsibilities as directed by CEO
