Our client, an Integrated Steel Manufacturing company, with stated objectives of becoming a market leader in the sub Saharan African steel industry, is seeking to engage the services of a competent Marketing Director for its operations in Nigeria

Educational Qualification & Experience
  • Bachlors/MBA in marketing management with more than 20years of experience out of which 5 years must be in leadership role.
  • Preferred: Advance degree with experience in Steel plant preferably in African countries

  • Overall management of all strategic and operational marketing
  • Sales and customer relationship and accomplishes business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans
  • Implementing sales plans
  • Managing staff,out-bound logistics

Detailed job description
  1. Responsible for revenue generation across product and regions and ensure yields across products through regional managers.
  2. Ensure quality of distribution activities and area sales managers across region.
  3. Implementation of Billing targets in Nigeria and West Africa
  4. Responsible for intracting with foreign principals on technical support and commercial /pricing matters
  5. Responsible for Marketing and sales and works through marketing managers and regional managers to achieve top line market share and achieve revenue and brand objectives
  6. Strategize and plan the sales process management, forecasting, pricing, key account management, expenses, profitability, new product development, market research
  7. Accomplishes marketing and sales human resource objectives by recruiting, training and disciplining employees, appraising, enforcing policies and procedures.
  8. Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  9. Meets marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  10. Determines annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
  11. Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans.
  12. Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  13. Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  14. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational,analytical,problem solving and decision making skills required.
  • Must have execellent leadership, change management, interpersonal, teambuilding and influencing skills.
