The Sales Manager provides support in implementing sales and business strategies to develop and increase the firm's client base, through various Business Development Activities.

Reports To: Head, Sales and Marketing


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
1. Business Development & Marketing
  • Responsible for the sales of the firm's products- Housing units and Land plots, depending on the segment (Diaspora, Corporate, Private or Public) assigned by the Head of Sales and Marketing.
  • Develop complementary strategies or initiatives to strengthen the company’s position. Work with the Head Sales & Marketing to plan and develop strategies for meeting business goals and driving sales process from inquiry/RFP coordination through “Closing the Deal”.
  • Assist other sales managers in establishing and closing deals as the opportunities arise.
  • Manage the consolidation of existing business and the development of profitable new business in collaboration with the Head, Sales and Marketing and all other stakeholders in other units.
  • Contribute ideas for development in the strategic business planning process.
  • Participate in networking events and build strategic relationships towards securing business advantage. Regularly make presentations and pitches to identified leads and prospects.
  • Participate in developing a yearly marketing plan and associated budget based on market trends, research, and objectives set forth in the strategic business plan.
  • Discover marketing opportunities by identifying customer requirements; defining market share, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing market share.
  • Keep abreast of economic, industry, market and regulatory trend; ascertain their (potential) impact on the business and advice management accordingly.

2. Brand Management

  • Contribute to the preparation of brand plan-marketing and a quarterly promotional strategy for the firm.
  • Work with internal and external groups to create, develop, and launch new and innovative online marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Source advertising opportunities and place adverts in the press - local, regional, national and specialist publications.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Initiate and maintain contact with clients in order to develop opportunities and to forestall and resolve problems, ensuring regular updates and reports are provided.
  • Assist Customer Care unit in the management of clients during project execution, to ensure a positive image of the firm is maintained.
  • Attend project progress meetings to be aware of operational issues associated with projects.
  • Work alongside finance units in recovering debts.
    Conduct post mortems with clients upon completion of projects.
4. Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations in order to improve business performance.
  • Build and manage relationships with other relevant stakeholders including government officials, community leaders, agencies etc, to ensure best outcomes for the business.

EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing or related field.
  • MBA, Master’s degree or professional qualification in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Sales & Marketing or Business Development.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships in the Real Estate industry.
  • Proven sales track record with experience in successfully expanding new business and growing existing business within a vertical market.
  • Intimate knowledge of the Nigerian business terrain with management experience in both the regulated and deregulated sectors of the economy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication both verbal and written.
